By Clarise Mae Bañas

What comes into your mind when you hear the word techno? Is it the energetic beat of the drum? Or the kind of music that actively boosts your mood? If yes, then I should think that you are the type of person who loves to dance.

You could also be the type of person who spends their free time with their friends gathering in a place where your favorite DJ plays. Techno music is developed during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, but until now it is considered to be one of the most played genres in the music industry.

It is an electronic dance music that originally came from the United States, particularly in Detroit, Michigan. Upon developing this type of genre, music journalists and fans of techno invented the terms tech house and trance. Tech house pertains to the elements of techno that is usually used at home, while they defined trance as a genre of electronic music that repeats melodic phrases and a way to trick people with hypnosis. Techno is associated with the word hypnosis, because once you hear this kind of music it will caught your attention and by chance it could also make you listen from it always. So let’s go and hear some techno!
